Through organizational simulation, reflective exercises and conversation, physicians will gain understanding and develop strategies for working in their organizations and within the health care system more broadly while identifying leadership opportunities to address systemic challenges.
Participants can expect to learn how to:
- describe the concept of vuca [volatility, complexity, and ambiguity]
- practice sense-making to guide decisions in simple, complicated, complex, and chaotic systems
- reflect upon and practice strategies which help leaders and teams to improve their functioning in systems with little certainty and/or agreement
- identify, reflect upon and practice strategies which help leaders and teams to improve their functioning in systems with little certainty and/or agreement
- apply skills to influence underlying archetypes and social systems patterns causing resistance to systemic change
- develop take home ideas and solutions to apply to real situations in the participants’ work systems
